Wow, these last couple of days have been great! All I've been doing is scrap booking. For me! My albums!
Usually I am under the gun to design pages for one of my workshops, or I am making cards, or something to sell. The last time I did any scrap booking for me was in November at my scrap booking retreat. That seems like ages ago. This weekend though, I committed to trying to finalize some of my albums, and I completed over 16 pages! It feels great. I know I won't be able to keep up the momentum, but I hope that it helps to keep me inspired to scrap book my life a little more often. I have a renewed love for my pictures, my pages and my story. I will share with you, as I take pictures and organize them, but for now, here is a before and after of a layout that I quite like.
This is using the Creative Memories Simply Beautiful (I know, shame on me for using retired product still, but it remains to be a favorite with me), with my two favorite colors, grape and green apple (the two best colors ever!). Tools used were the hexagon custom cutting tool from ages ago, the butterfly punch, corner rounder and the frame chain border cartridge, as well as the scallop stitch border cartridge.
This was my daughters Twelfth birthday. This picture right here, pretty much sums up how she feels about cupcakes!
Thanks so much for checking in. If you like what you see, please consider pinning this to Pinterest, share my blog with a friend, leave me a comment or sign up to get updates from my blog. Take care!

Hexagon Craziness
So I am going a bit crazy with the new Hexagon border punch, and Jumbo Hexagon with the custom cutting system!
I just wanted to share a layout I did with the Mediterranean Market Paper for my travel album workshop. I sure hope I can remember all the instructions for my class! Check it out:

Rhubarb Coffee Cake
My husband was going to join me on a 40 day challenge that I am taking part of, his challenge was going to be to give up baked goods. Oh boy! I knew it was going to be a tough one for him to keep to, and for me to not bake. A few days in, he decided that he chose the wrong kind of challenge. That meant for me, I could bake again!
I'm sharing with you, my Rhubarb Coffee Cake Recipe. Have it with a steaming hot cup of coffee or tea!
Rhubarb Coffee Cake
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups rhubarb
Topping
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp melted butter
Cream butter, sugar and eggs with a mixer. Mix in sour cream, and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add flour mixture to the sour cream mixture alternately. Add in the rhubarb last by stirring in with a spoon.
For the topping, mix all ingredients together.
Grease either a tube pan or an 8x8 pan and pour batter in alternately with the topping. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-45 minutes.
Yummy, check out the finished product!
Enjoy!

Valentines is Not Just for Lovers
I don't normally make a big deal out of Valentines. For those who know me, they know it's because my birthday is the next day, and I always feel ripped off. Much like those who have birthdays near Christmas time must feel. It's two separate celebrations people! So don't be going and getting me a Valentine Birthday card!
That being said, Creative Memories did come out with some fantastic new Valentine's paper, that is not so lovey dovey and I really like it. The stickers and embellishments are very Valentine focused however. I do think I did a good job at creating some things that are not so lover focused though. My daughter likes to get Valentines, and she wanted me to make her an album of just her cat Angel. I did that, but of course I could not stop there. So I made some cards that I thought were a mix of both Valentine, and wedding type, as well as some gift tags.
Check them out and let me know what you think!
I will also be hosting a workshop, so let me know if that interests you at all. I can do it in your home, or mine.
Thanks for stopping by!

New Hexagon Border Punch
The same thing goes for my crafting area! A complete overhaul! I wish I had the fore thought to take a picture of exactly how messy my craft room looked two weeks before Christmas! Let me put it this way, no one was allowed to go to my basement, and if you tried, you would trip over boxes, a vacuum, a turned over chair, and you would have to step over piles of paper to get to the bathroom! My last craft sale ended and I did not take one moment to put anything back where it belonged! A tornado may have made it's way through that room in fact, because that is exactly what it looked like. Shame on me, it stayed that way for about three weeks! Slowly though, I am working my way through it, organizing supplies, completed projects, and new goodies to play with.
Ah, there it is, the new goodies to play with, my inspiration for pushing up my sleeves, blasting a little Prince music, and cleaning it all out! Just before Christmas, I purchased some new tools and paper and some fun things to get down and creative with. I am really looking forward to playing!
One of the new tools, is a Creative Memories border punch cartridge. I love the border maker so much, and I love it even more, when they come out with a cartridge that I love. The new one is a hexagon shape. This was the New Years layout at my last scrapbooking class I taught. Check it out!
One of the other albums that this same group of ladies is working on is a travel album. I love the paper, it was a limited edition Mediterranean Market Paper pack and I am having so much fun creating some bright, fun pages. Now all I have to do is take a hot Caribbean vacation so I have pictures to put in it! I guess if I ever do, lucky me, I'll have an album already made!
Happy Creating everyone! I will be back soon with some more!
Thanks for stopping by!
