Photo Books

I started making photo books for my daughter when she began her own love of sharing our photos. She always wanted to take our scrapbooks to school to show her friends and teachers. Anyone who has this hobby, knows, it is not a cheap one to have! So I started to make her very own photo books that she could carry around.

As everything, once I started I could not stop! Being Mother's Day soon, I thought that I would make some up for that special day. Here is a peak at some of them!

And of course a Mother's Day card!

I also had some great paper left over from some journals that I made, so I created a few photo books from that! I think I may keep one of these for myself!

All that is needed is to cut some photos and add them! Easy peasy!

The weather is beginning to change, and I know that I will feel that natural shift to craft less and garden and write more! How is it that somehow, there is just not enough time for it all!

Have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by.

Oh what a weekend!

The weekend has come and gone, two big sales over with. My first sale of the weekend was a great success. I was able to go the day before and set up, which always makes the morning of the sale that much more pleasurable. However, this particular morning, I was bringing an extra table, just to give myself some extra room, so I knew there was still some work to be done. We arrived with plenty of time. That is until the crafter next to us recommended we change our layout to a different configuration. Since she has done this sale before, I took her advice. All was going well, until one of our tables connected with one of her grid walls she had leaning up against her chair, and that fell into the curtains separating the rows, and the weight of the curtain caused the poles to come tumbling down all the way down on either side of us and beyond. Not a good start, and made set up very stressful!

I was too busy to grab my camera and take a picture, but I am sure you can imagine the chaos that ensued!

In the end, the sale was not as busy as anticipated and I didn't need to change the space at all! It was my first time at this particular venue and I was just happy to be there. I myself had good sales so it was a fine day. What made it so fine was the support of some lovey friends, who loved my journals and bought at least 4 among them. They appreciated my cards and bought at least 25 among them! That always makes me appreciate the effort I put into it all. And my daughter got to hang out with a few lovely ladies and a very precious baby, and not be bored sitting with me!

And then there are the other days. The days you wake up May 1st to snow and mean, blowing winds and an unsuccessful sale. Not completely unsuccessful, but one that disappoints and makes you wonder why you do it all.   Then comes the e mail or a post of someone who was nice enough to take the time and thought to tell you they are enjoying what they purchased, or that the person they gifted it to was very appreciative, and it puts a smile back on my face. So thank you. If you sent me that message, I know you will be reading this, and thank you.  There is also the person I remember from the day before, who bought a mothers day card from me, similar to this one.....

And I know he so appreciated it. He was so complimentary of my creations, and all that day, the next day and today, I wondered, who will he give that card to? You see I found out his mom died this year, and I wished I could go back and ask him, and tell him thank you for picking up that card and taking the time to tell me how much you liked it. Thank you, and I am so sorry for your loss.

Some of my favorites, and what seemed to be the favorites of some others were......

My "tea"riffic purses, including tea bags

Made with my Creative Memories Custom Cutting System

Some Mother's Day cards

Graduation cards

Chocolate truffle goodie bags

Teacher list books and Teacher appreciation cards

And some journals

I have one more spring sale and then I think that will be it for a while. I would like to get some scrapbooking done, and book in some workshops.

Thanks for reading, and if you are new to my blog after meeting me this weekend, thanks so much for checking it out, and welcome.

Gearing Up for Sales

I spent weeks trying to find some craft sales to get into and nothing! Then all of a sudden there were many! Many is a common thought in my head! Some times I get too many ideas, have too many things on the go, and eventually I hit a brick wall because I have no where to go!

Anyway, I was thinking of some new ideas for two big sales that I have coming up, one near Easter and the two big ones for Mother's Day. Yikes I just realized they are back to back. I thought because one was in April and the other in May that I was ok. But it just so happens one is April 30th  and the other May 3st. Yikes! Wait until my husband finds out. Oh and the following Monday I am having my floors re done. You see, too much at once!  I digress, see how my brain works?

So here are a few samples of some of what I have been up to.....

And this......
Last night was my Friday night scrap booking class that I hold every Month and wow those ladies were quick! They are just getting that much better at what they do! I will post pictures soon of our pages so far.

Have a great, and enjoyable weekend everyone!

First Days of Spring

I wish I was writing about the beautiful weather, spring fever, grass peaking through on the lawn, the garden I am planning. Sadly, I am not! It seems like spring is taking forever to come a calling! By now I would normally be pulling out my capri pants, washing them and making sure I have a new top to go with them. I would be planning the garden, making a list of the new foliage and flowers I want to experiment with... you get the picture right? I think we are all feeling the same way.

I did take some time today to think of Mother's Day and Easter, and this is what I came up with.

The other day I was inspired to work with purple and blue for Mother's Day!

Today though, it was green, and my new favorite from Stampin Up, crumb cake.

I also have a sale that is close to Easter, so I thought I would try making some of these cute little kids Easter treat boxes. I did some in yellow, later in the week I will try a different color. This was more of a practice run, and a good way to use some of my leftover spring Creative Memories paper! I love finding ways to use my scrap paper!

Since the sun was not shining, and we are all a little dreary around here, Haley and I went and bought rain boots so that we can at least go for a walk. The only color left in my size was red! I normally do not wear anything red, but I thought for rain boots, they would be fun!

So we are ready to take the dog for a walk tomorrow after an early end to the school day (and before tutor), yikes, I forgot to remind her! We are hoping for sunshine, and no ice to slip on, because we are both very good at randomly falling!

So I know they are not the most fashionable of rain boots, but what do you think! Bring on the puddles!

Have a great week everyone!
