Dear Prince, 3rd Eye Girl and the NPG, this is my plea to you! To my followers, I assure you this is still the same blog you have been following, today's post has just taken a bit of a turn.
It is all over social media that you, Prince, are opening the doors to Paisley Park this Saturday Night. All your band mates, even the Horn section is tweeting about it! Wow, that is amazing. Super, just stab me in my already broken heart why don’t you? Because I cannot be there! I have seen you and the NPG here in my hometown; I have flown to Chicago for a girl’s weekend to once again see you and the NPG. Both experiences were beyond amazing. I have even made the 8 hour drive to Minneapolis from home, to see you and your all girl band 3rd Eye Girl at the Myth. Once again, I was blown away. I stood at the base of that stage completely in awe, a dream come true.
I was thankful.
I was satisfied.
I am a wild soul, a dreamer, and I always want for more.
I want more.
So while I was happy to see you in your hometown, and I thought I was satisfied, I no longer am. I want to see you at Paisley Park. Full on, the NPG, 3rd Eye Girl and the Horns! Oh yeah, that's this weekend, but I can't go!
I am a busy girl! I am working so hard every day, all day, and all night to prepare for my own upcoming shows of a different kind.
You see, I make things. Nice things, pretty things, useful gift giving things!
I bake things. Good things. I sell things, and I have shows to be ready for to make some money! Perhaps to go to YOUR shows!
As much as I would like to drive to the Canadian/USA border, cross it, stop in Fargo to stock up on some supplies and make my way to Minneapolis, I am a bit busy. You see Prince, the second week in December and beyond, would really suit me better. Then, I am free as a bird. Anytime.
So while I am happy for all of those people in your hometown who get to experience YOU, 3rd Eye Girl, the NPG and the HORNS, all in one building, I know, a great time will be had by all.
Time.
I believe that there is a right time for everything; I know there will be a time I get to experience Paisley Park. I put it out into the universe, so it will happen. So like I said, the second weekend in December and beyond would be just great. My birthday is in February so that would work too! This weekend, perhaps is just not my time.
Time.
While I am working away, weather it is diligently writing, or my artisan projects, I take time, moments in my day to listen to some of my favorites...
Prince and 3rd Eye Girl
Prince and 3rd Eye Girl
Liv Warfield and NPG
Groovy Potential
I take time out of my busy day, and yes I get my latest Prince info from this dude in LA.
I hop on to Instagram and this guy always makes me laugh...

Your October Surprise would normally make my heart beat fast, but today it just made me... FIRST, say some strongly worded things that I won't repeat here. Then it made me just so glad, and thankful that you are doing this now. I hope you continue to do this!
So while this is my plea for you to open up Paisley Park AGAIN another time, (when perhaps this Canadian girl can make the road trip yet again to Minneapolis), it was also my clever way to show my readers around my blogs, (go click on the links people!), and let them see what I have been working on. I have also introduced them to you, and your amazing extension of a band! You see Prince you may be clever and highly intelligent, but so am I! And yes people, I know Prince is not really ever going to read this!
In all seriousness though, if by chance you ever do read this, please make my broken heart, my wild wandering soul happy and open your doors to me! Just do it again another time when I can make it. OK. Because the other time you did it a few months ago, I was on the beach, and well it just didn't work out then either! You all know at this point in this post, that I have definitely been working too hard, as I have seemed to go off the deep end! I think I have been so busy creating, that I have been missing blogging.
So to my real readers, anyone local reading this, please come to my shows, share the info with your friends, support locally made, and help me to keep this thing going so that I may continue to work out of my home, I really enjoy the creativity I get to share with you all, and that is my plea to you! Please check out my Events page here. And visit my other blog Moments in Time with Tannis! I'd love to have you there!

It was just one of those days, following a tough couple of days, and today I thought I would find comfort in something from my childhood. Strawberries and Cream. As most things like this, I don't have a recipe, but when I was making it, I made sure to take notice of what my proportions were because I wanted to share with you, my recipe for Strawberries and Cream, with tea biscuits. Summer is on the way, and what better time to make this!
Strawberries and Cream
What you will need:
1 Cup of sour cream or plain yogurt
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
What you need to do: Using an immersion blender, blend all ingredients until smooth (unless you like it a little bit chunky, then don't blend it as much). My girl likes it smooth, so I make sure to blend it well.
Refrigerate until tea biscuits are ready.
Tea Biscuits
What you will need:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup milk
What you need to do: Mix all dry ingredients together. Add in butter or margarine and mix with a fork or hands, until mixture is crumbly. Make a well in the middle. In a cup, mix the egg and milk slightly, and then add to the dry mixture. Mix together to make a soft dough.
Pat the dough onto a floured counter to a 1 inch thickness. Use a circle cutter to cut out 9 biscuits.
Brush the top with milk and sprinkle with a large granular sugar. I use turbinado sugar, or raw sugar. (Regular works just fine as well!)
Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack.
Now, that both are done, cut your biscuit in half, spoon on your strawberries and cream, and top with a few sliced strawberries!
I like to dream of the places I will travel. I like to remember the places I have been, what seems like so long ago.
Now, I dream of places like Italy, Greece, Denmark, California, Africa. I won't make it to most of these places, but it is fun to dream. It's also been fun to make the travel album that I have been working on with my group. We are using the Mediterranean Market paper from Creative Memories, and are nearly done!
I just wanted to share some of the pages I have designed here, and hopefully it will help you to be inspired to either begin or continue with any travel albums you are dreaming of starting!
Thanks so much for stopping by! If you like what you see, please consider sharing my blog, subscribe to receive updates, Pin It to Pinterest, or all of the above! Thanks so much! Have a creative day! -Tannis
I have said it before, I will say it again, the Enchanted paper from Creative Memories has got to be my favorite to date so far! I love it's versatility! I can use it for cards, I can use it to make my journals, I can scrapbook Christmas with it, or every day life!
My ladies and I are working on a full album, using the Enchanted paper, and we are only on our second layout, but I am really looking forward to the pages I can design for them!
Here is our latest pages, I hope they can inspire you to do the same or a similar layout!
To see the pages from our last class, please check them out here, and to see a workshop I did making cards, gift tags and a chipboard album, please click the link to go here!
Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely weekend, and don't forget to do something creative!
My ladies and I started a new scrap booking album, using the Creative Memories Enchanted paper. I know I am going to love designing these pages! We had someone new join us, so I wanted to make sure the first class was not too complicated.
I hope you like the layout, and I hope it inspires you to do the same layout, or change it up and make your own!
What do you think? If you like it, please consider "pinning" it to Pinterest or sharing my blog link with someone you think may like it!
Wow, these last couple of days have been great! All I've been doing is scrap booking. For me! My albums! Usually I am under the gun to design pages for one of my workshops, or I am making cards, or something to sell. The last time I did any scrap booking for me was in November at my scrap booking retreat. That seems like ages ago. This weekend though, I committed to trying to finalize some of my albums, and I completed over 16 pages! It feels great. I know I won't be able to keep up the momentum, but I hope that it helps to keep me inspired to scrap book my life a little more often. I have a renewed love for my pictures, my pages and my story. I will share with you, as I take pictures and organize them, but for now, here is a before and after of a layout that I quite like. This is using the Creative Memories Simply Beautiful (I know, shame on me for using retired product still, but it remains to be a favorite with me), with my two favorite colors, grape and green apple (the two best colors ever!). Tools used were the hexagon custom cutting tool from ages ago, the butterfly punch, corner rounder and the frame chain border cartridge, as well as the scallop stitch border cartridge.
This was my daughters Twelfth birthday. This picture right here, pretty much sums up how she feels about cupcakes!
Thanks so much for checking in. If you like what you see, please consider pinning this to Pinterest, share my blog with a friend, leave me a comment or sign up to get updates from my blog. So I am going a bit crazy with the new Hexagon border punch, and Jumbo Hexagon with the custom cutting system!
I just wanted to share a layout I did with the Mediterranean Market Paper for my travel album workshop. I sure hope I can remember all the instructions for my class! Check it out:
